Outta Bounds Summer Day Camp Receives Award
for Outstanding Community Service
|
On Wednesday, July 29th, our camp was
awarded with a Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Community
Service from California State Assemblyman Jeff Miller. The Assemblyman
learned of the program after seeing information that was sent out through a
City of Mission Viejo newsletter. He was impressed by the wide range
of activities, and pleased to see that we integrated a character program
into the camp. A few of our kids gave staffer Wade Peng a tour of our
facility, and we talked about future projects that could get our kids
interested in State government. In an industry that is not appreciated
and valued as much as it should be, it's nice to be recognized for your
hard work. Thank you Mr. Miller!

The Outta Bounds Events
Summer Day Camp will soon be welcoming some very special guests.
In our camps we
teach the kids about caring, citizenship, and thankfulness. In honor of
these character traits, Outta Bounds Events has extended an open invitation
to children in and around the area who are part of an organization called
Snowball Express. This nonprofit organization honors and supports the
families of fallen heroes who have died while on active duty since 9/11.
Each year Snowball Express host a gathering for families from across the
country, where kids and widows come to discover that they are not alone, and
that they are not forgotten.
Like the great
folks at Snowball Express, we believe it is our duty as a community to
support these families and to provide hope and new memories to their
children. To that end, we have set aside a few spots in each of our
remaining sessions for these children to attend our camp free of charge.
Calls have
started coming in and over the remaining sessions of summer we hope to be
joined each week by as many families as we can host.
