Tax ID 26-4140792
Our organization is staffed by experienced
leaders that have a combined total of over 60 years of youth programming
expertise. For the majority of those years, this group worked together as
part of the Afterschool Team Activity Club, also known as ATAC. The closing
of this innovative program, that has touched the lives of so many children,
was a great loss for this community.
Outta Bounds Events Inc. will be continuing
our tradition of quality school-age programming through the creation of our non-profit organization. Our mission is to
enrich the lives of families and children in the community
by providing quality activities, camps, and events for school-age youth.
The organization is lead by its Executive Director, Scott Ramirez and its
two other senior staff, Kristina Ibarra and Jennifer Price. This trio of
childcare professionals and other former program staff makeup the leadership
of the Outta Bounds Events Inc. organization.
Our programming
schedule currently consists of a summer day camp, camps during school
vacations, an after-school program for Newhart Middle School, overnighters, and special events throughout the year. In the
near future, we are hoping to add even more events and
a professional staff training component that could assist the development of
other youth programs in our area.
We are extremely excited about
this new organization, and hope that it will continue to develop and grow,
giving us the ability to assist and enrich the lives of even more families and youth in
the community.
Outta Bounds Events and City of Mission
Viejo In January of 2009, Outta
Bounds Events Inc. started a relationship with the City of Mission Viejo's
Community Services staff. We found that we shared a common goal to provide quality camps
for youth in the community. Over the next few months we discussed ideas and
strategies to achieve this goal.
Outta Bounds
Events Inc. had a dedicated staff with the experience and passion to create
quality youth programs, but needed a location to host its camps. The City of
Mission Viejo has always been a community that values youth development and
was looking for organizations to provide quality youth programming. The
partnership was a perfect match. Over the next few months we worked with a
team from the city's Recreation and Community Services Department that
included Steve Bell, Barbara Cassidy and Kelly Doyle. This incredible group
gave us the opportunity to bring our programming to their community and for
that we are eternally grateful.
In early March
of 2009,
we submitted our official proposal to the City of Mission Viejo to provide
an eleven week Summer Camp program at the Thomas R. Potocki Conference
Center. Our proposal went on the agenda for the March 17th meeting of The
Community Services Commission. On that night, parents and former
campers who were familiar with our staff and our programs, spoke with
passion on our behalf and after a brief discussion, the committee voted
unanimously to approve our proposal.
Throughout this
process we had been developing our program and waiting for the opportunity
share it with the community. On April 1st, 2009 we began taking sign-ups for
Outta Bounds Events Summer Camp 2009. The summer camp was a great success
and in the fall of 2009, we started an after-school program for kids at
Newhart Middle School. Th at program continues to grow each month and we are
busy planning for events throughout 2010.

Outta Bounds Events and Community of Character
Through our partnership with The City of Mission Viejo, we
discovered the Community of Character Program. This program works to create
a positive environment in our community by using a framework that builds
good character values and assets. The program was created in 2003 and is
supported be a committee of adult and youth volunteers who organize events
and educate the community about the importance of good character.
We feel that any organization that works with youth has a
responsibility to make a positive impact on each child that participates in
activities supported by that organization. To that end, we have decided to
incorporate the 12 core values outlined in the Community of Character
Program into our camps.
Each week of this year's Summer Camp has a theme and a
character value attached to that week. Many of the activities, events and
trips throughout each week will support and tie into these themes and
character values. Outta Bounds Events is excited about working with the
Community of Character Committee and believes that the inclusion of a
character building program is a great addition to our camps and activities.
